Happy Tuesday, friends! I’m so excited that I got to spend a little time in the craft room this past weekend. I decided to create a little more with the Village stamp set and Village Additions stamp set with coordinating dies by Pretty Pink Posh.
Of course, this provided me a chance to experiment with my Ohuhu pastel Honolulu alcohol marker set. I absolutely love all the light and muted colors in this set. I brought in a mix of different colors to this fun card project. I just kept choosing different markers and laying down multiple colors on top of each other to make some interesting blends.
To start this card design, I stamped the images using Gina K. Designs amalgam obsidian ink onto a panel of white card stock. I then put on some 80s music (of course)!
I really enjoyed coloring this piece and giving it a pretty sunset sky. I had the idea to sketch little silhouette scenes in the windows. One is a couple sitting at a table for dinner and the other is a clerk working in a bakery. Do you see the tiered cake in the display window? It was a lot of fun imagining this project as a quaint little downtown square.
For the sentiment, I chose “Sending Happy Thoughts Your Way” from the Thoughtful Greetings stamp set by Pretty Pink Posh. It fit and stamped perfectly above the two roofs.
Next, I used my most favorite stitched nesting rectangle dies from Waffle Flower Crafts and die cut the scene in half using two different sized dies. Since the Village stamp set is sized larger than an A2 card, I knew I wanted to trim, stagger and layer the scene.
To anchor the buildings, I used the largest stitched rectangle die to cut a pretty blue background panel. I adhered it center to the card base. I then placed the little church (or it could be a school building) to the left of the blue panel. Then I popped up the bakery and restaurant using some fun foam cut to size.
Finally, I adhered the little vintage car using a few foam squares and some liquid adhesive in front of the buildings where the scene is layered.
I added Glossy Accents to all the windows, a few low light distressing with an alcohol marker, plus a few highlights using a uniball white gel pen.
I love how this design turned out!
Thank you for stopping by today, I’m so glad you were here. Feel free to comment over on Instagram or Facebook. I would love to have you as a crafting friend and follower on the socials!
