Clearly I’m not a professional watercolorist. However, oh my, I truly love it. This is my very first attempt at a watercolor flower. This art will take much practice, but I think it is something that I would really enjoy and like to include within my card making.
With more experience I will better understand a water to pigment ratio and how much pressure to apply on my brushstrokes. I find so much joy seeing all the inspiration from artists that share their watercolor pieces.
I am glad that I started this adventure and I am glad that I chose to begin with my mini pan sets by Arteza. They have such beautiful colors and are affordable. As I practice new techniques and experiment in any painting, I’m having a blast getting to know the colors.
For today’s card project, I used a small piece of watercolor paper and painted my sprig of lavender. I let it dry and then heat embossed in silver around the edges. I layered this to an A2 sized (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) panel of pewter card stock.
For the sentiment, I die cut two times the word “blessed” in black card stock and layered them for more stability. I stamped in black pigment ink to white card stock the added phrase “to know you”. Both pieces are from the Bitty Buzzwords stamp and die set by Honey Bee Stamps. I adhered the sentiment to the card front using liquid adhesive and placed a few white and light purple pearls to finish the card.
Thank you for joining me today as I wrap up my thank you card series!
