Today, I’m showcasing a get well card made with the Hero Arts Stamp and Cut Butterfly Pair set. It was one of my very first purchases when I was exploring the art of handmade cards.
I love that the dies are made to partially cut the wings so that you have instant dimension and contrast to the butterflies.
I started with a panel of white card stock, and I ink blended with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. I went very light on the color to the left and built intensity as I blended to the right side of the panel. As I concentrated the color around the right side edges, it created a nice corner vignette to the panel.
Next, I went ahead and die cut where I wanted my butterflies to go on the card. Then I positioned the butterfly stamps on top, stamped with Versamark Ink and heat embossed in gold embossing powder. I found that I was able to line up the stamp to the die cut better than lining up the die with my stamped image. I matched the “Get Well Soon” sentiment by Waffle Flower Crafts in gold and popped it up with some foam squares to meet the dimension of the butterflies.
In my craft stash, I had some really pretty gold butterfly washi tape that tied in very well to the project. I decided to add it to the top of a piece of black card stock to create a vertical border much like creating the look of book binding.
Finally, I layered the completed card panel to a layer of black card stock and adhered it to an A2 sized card base.
Thank you for joining me, and I hope you have a wonderful day!
