Honey Bee Stamps | More Ink Smooshing Card Projects

Happy Saturday my crafty friends! I hope you are enjoying your day today. We have sunshine for the first time after many days of icy and gloomy winter weather. Trying to soak up some of the vitamin D before rain moves in again next week.

Today, I wanted to share two quick and fun ink smooshing card projects. I think ink smooshing is my most favorite technique to do. It’s always fun to see how the colors are going to mingle on the card panels. For this set of cards, I chose a pretty pink and purple ink color combo.

For card #1, I cut a portion of my ink smooshing background paper to serve as a banner to go across the bottom of an A2 size landscape card panel made from black card stock.

Across the banner, I heat embossed in white embossing powder a cute little flower stamp that I have had for years.

Unfortunately, I have no clue what brand in which this stamp belongs. If I had to guess, I purchased it from Michaels, ages ago. This makes me think it very well could be Recollections brand. I have a whole set of different pretty flowers. I guess I’ll just call them my Mystery Flowers stamp set.

For the sentiment, I created the phrase “Enjoy Your Day” by using my Bitty Buzzword stamp and die set from Honey Bee Stamps. I added a few extra layers to give it some dimension. For the inside of the card, I used my Waffle Flower Crafts nesting stitched rectangle die to cut a stitched panel of light purple card stock to highlight a space for a written personal message.

For card #2, I used my nesting stitched rectangle dies and cut from my ink smooshing background paper. I layered it in black and white card stock and then adhered the complete panel to a white A2 card base.

I stamped using my Honey Bee Stamps Bitty Buzzwords set the sentiment “Sending You Big Hugs” with Tsukineko Versafine Claire Nocturne Ink and then die cut the word “Hugs” out. I also cut two little hearts using a creative cut from the Up With Love Mama Elephant set and added them to the card front for a tone on tone embellishment.

Thanks so much for joining me today, and I hope you have a fantastic weekend.
