Blessed to Know You – Honey Bee Stamps and Altenew Mix-n-Match Card Project

Well, Hello and Welcome! I’m so glad you are here.

Do you mix and match brands when creating your handmade cards? Or, do you prefer to keep it all within the same company?

At first, I thought to do the latter. But, then I was encouraged by fellow card makers to not be afraid to shop my stash and create with what I have!

Today I’m excited to share a card project using a combination of products by Altenew and Honey Bee Stamps!

I also tried a new embossing technique that I haven’t seen before (but possibly could have been done)!

First, I ink smooshed/blended and stenciled my background, but I didn’t allow the ink to completely dry. Instead, I went ahead and stamped my floral image with my embossing ink on to the card front.

I then applied the embossing powder. In doing so, the powder collected and remained on some areas of the background that were still a bit damp in addition to my stamped images.

The result was a very textured and total distressed look. I think it created a bit of a vintage feel. I love it and if you give it a try, I hope you do too!
